DIRECTOR’S THOUGHTS, NOVEMBER, 2026
The 50TH Annual Old car Show will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at the Phifer’s Ice Dams, 880 Main Road, Lehighton, Pa. This event is a milestone, 50 years!!! This event is optional, but highly recommended, requiring everyone’s assistance to host a, hopefully, successful event for this chapter. Let’s make this an event everyone will not forget!!!
Further in this newsletter, you will see a flyer on Gary Hiller to present a talk on the “Duesenberg” car and its’ history @ America On Wheels, Allentown, Pa, 10:30 – 11:30 am, FREE to AOW members, $20.00 admission for non-members. Yes, I know this is the same date as this chapter’s 50th Annual Old Car show, Lehighton, Pa. Sometimes we have NO control over dates of events.
Another Hershey event is under our belts. Those of us who attended, despite the overwhelming empty spaces, items sold and friendships were renewed. While Monday was the best day for sales, the days thereafter were okay. For those who attended Friday, show day, I hope you had a great day! Congrats to Todd Kriner = First Original w/ 1985 Buick Riviera and 1977 Pontiac (Original Class), and for Peter Berkin = First Jr. w/ 1999 Kawasaki (Cruiser Bike). Your Elected Director, Sally Getz
“FREE SPIRIT” Chapter Meeting Minutes, OCTOBER 13, 2026
Meeting called to order 7:24 pm. 14 members were present. Sally “WELCOMED” everyone to tonight’s meeting. Everyone was invited to share what they may have done during the summer months. Eric Hunsberger reported selling his 1955 to someone who saw it at Pottstown Cruise. The guy was there from Manasses, Virginia. Eric included trophies that it had won w/ the sale, & he was very happy to have it all. Bill Hallman reported attending a show in Pottsville. Also, he had a fun experience w/ 2 young girls w/ his friend’s 1957 Olds 88. They asked to sit in it & didn’t know they had to push the button to open the door. They seemed to just love the experience. Hershey: Thomas/Kathleen Duckett reported attending & spending 2 days of walking. All agreed it was probably time to condense the spaces so that things were more compact. Thomas judged the vendor turnout to be sparse. Sally Getz had her vending spaces & reported doing okay. Bill Hallman reported that there were 980 registered cars for car corral.

ISO/CARS & PARTS FOR SALE
I have recently purchased 1942 Buick Special Eight. I am reaching out for help sourcing some parts. The wiper motor was missing and I bought an electric motor kit from Bobs Automobilia. When I received the motor, I realized I am missing the wiper motor transmission rods. The wiper spindle / wiper arms are intact on the windshield. I also need the following parts … if possible;Heater Control Unit (my one is leaking); Dashboard Gauges (mine are in poor condition); Rear Wing Panels ??? (I think there is a panel missing on both sides at the rear of the rear wheels). I would be most grateful if someone could help me sourced these parts. Please contact: Gary Keville of Ireland, gary.keville@gkt.ie, Telephone: +353 1 6674322; Mobile: +353 86 2484503.
